Fleet Cemetery wins Silver-Gilt award

Fleet Cemetery wins Silver-Gilt Award in the 2017 “South & South East in Bloom” competition.

We are delighted to announce that Fleet Cemetery, which the team at Nigel Jeffries Landscapes recently helped redesign, was recognised with a Silver Gilt award.

Mike Nowick, Contract Manager at Nigel Jeffries Landscapes explains, “After being requested to make some landscaping improvements at the Fleet Cemetery, I decided to focus on the small building, which is centrally situated,  serves as a watering point and provides some seating for visitors. My design included two brick planters, which separate the lawned areas from the benches. These are planted with Nandina and Ophiopogon, which provide year-round colour and create a serene atmosphere for the visitors who wish to linger a while.”

The Judges were extremely complimentary about the results, particularly noting that the planters we recommended and maintain throughout the year, were “impressive”.

However, the most heartfelt compliments have come from the people who visit their loved ones at the Cemetery.
